PMC started life over 30 years ago as a small repair shop in West Sussex. Trading from the back of a petrol station – Poling Service Station – on the edge of Poling village, the business grew from a small repair and salvage business into a major repairer in Sussex. In 1997 development of the A27 resulted in a compulsory purchase of the Poling premises, and the business moved to 10 acre freehold premises in Barnham, West Sussex.
As the level of activity grew, new buildings were added, providing large custom designed facilities for each stage of the repair process. Today the company uses the vast majority of the site to provide first class purpose built repair and storage facilities which are the envy of other shops working in smaller, less efficient premises. In 2005 the business changed its trading style from Poling Motor Company to PMC as part of a major rebranding exercise that both stated that the firm was not operating in Poling village and presented a corporate identity that more faithfully demonstrated its stature in the industry
